Waterford Regional Airport (operated by Waterford Regional Airport plc) is the only airport located in the South East of Ireland. The airport is 9km south-southeast of the City of Waterford, and 5km northeast of the Town of Tramore.

The airport’s infrastructure also supports a range of other activities including a Pilot Training College, International Academy of Travel and a number of small aviation related businesses. The Irish Coastguard Search and Rescue bases two Sikorsky rescue helicopters in a purpose built hangar at the airport flying regular training missions and vital rescue missions. CHC, the Coastguard’s operating company, now service their aircraft in Waterford and also use it as a training facility.
